Cyber Security Engineer

Cybersecurity Engineer – Southern California hybrid (long-term contract, No C2Cs)  

Our client in the sustainable energy industry has an opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing security team. As a Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture of the organization by collaborating closely with a team of security architects and engineers to help mitigate vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and codebase.  

Who you are:  

• 3+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer  
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a strong plus 

• Strong OOP skills with hands-on experience in securing code and applications  

• Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK) for log analysis, monitoring, and incident response  

What you’ll do:  

• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security code reviews  

• Provide guidance on remediation of vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security standards. 

• Monitor security events and incidents using SIEM tools, analyze logs, and respond to threats  

• Develop and maintain documentation related to security procedures, guidelines, and best practices  

• Assist in the design and implementation of security solutions, controls, and protocols to protect data and customer information

What does this position pay? 

Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected range for this role is $50.00 to $70.00 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate, and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
