VP or Director of Accounting (Private Equity Real Estate) – Los Angeles

A private equity real estate firm is seeking an ambitious and driven individual who will play a vital function in leading the accounting function. The firm develops, owns, and operates assets in industrial, office, and multifamily real estate. The VP or Director of Accounting will work with all departments such as finance, portfolio management and the President. This individual will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other relevant field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting with a real estate focus; preferably a mix of public accounting and industry.
  • Strong understanding of fund documents, operating agreements, loan agreements, side letters etc. and being able to translate primary inputs and outputs into dynamic analysis/models
  • CPA is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi or a similar software preferred.
  • Driven, go-getter who has a passion for real estate!

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and oversee the quarterly and annual reporting to process to investors and lenders.
  • Manage communications with investors on deliverables and coordinate with the asset management and FP&A team accordingly.
  • Manage distribution and liquidity forecasts for all investment vehicles.
  • Oversee the annual audit.
  • Oversee third-party fund administrators.
  • Manage the entire treasury function.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CFO and work with senior leaders across the organization to ensure proper financial performance.

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.

The expected range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 base per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
