Get to know Ciaran:
What book changed the way you see and understand the world?
The book that changed my life is the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. This book put into perspective how much time and energy goes into thinking about the past or the future instead of being present in the “now.” Reading this book really helped me to be present in the current moment. Staying focused on the present keeps me a happier person.
Describe one of the most meaningful experiences of your life:
When I was 19, I impulsively booked a flight to Ireland for 2 weeks. For those 2 weeks I backpacked alone through Ireland not planning anything just figuring it out spontaneously every day. It was so eye opening to me how much I could do fully alone. I had a moment while visiting a castle when I felt exhilarated, that I was by myself, and I wasn’t even scared. It was an incredibly empowering experience which was filled with amazing memories, great places, and amazing people.
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
I would love to be a polyglot. Being able to communicate in many languages is a way to open your mind to so much. To have the ability to travel and speak to people in their native language, would give you more cultural understanding by seeing with a clearer lens.”
