Animal Research Associate I, Cell and Gene Therapy

In-Vivo Research Associate I, Carlsbad, CA, $24–27/hr (Contract to hire role)
Are you passionate about hands-on in-vivo research and supporting next-generation therapeutics? This is a temp-to-hire opportunity to join an innovative biotech organization supporting Cell and Gene Therapy programs, with broad exposure to animal models, surgical techniques, and regulated preclinical studies.

Who you are:

• Background in in-vivo research with hands-on experience working with laboratory animals (mouse or rat required).

• Associate’s degree in veterinary technology or animal science, BS with 1-2+ year relevant experience, or HSD/GED with 3+ years relevant experience (education may be offset by experience)

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills; experience working under GLPs and SOPs preferred

What you’ll do:

• Develop and support in-vivo models by handling, restraining, dosing (PO, SQ, IV, ID), monitoring animal health, performing anesthesia/analgesia, post-operative care, and recovery

• Collect biological specimens (blood and other samples), perform study prep activities, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with GLPs, protocols, and SOPs

• Collaborate cross functionally with study directors, investigators, QA/QC, and internal teams while supporting internal research projects and optimizing service offerings

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and education.

The expected range for this role is $24–$27 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
