Controller – San Diego – $130-150K + bonus

Mentor. Impact. Do! In this role you lead a team responsible for the monthly close and generation of roll-up reporting and analysis for multiple entities. You will impact financial operations and help the CEO identify key performance drivers to measure, monitor, and enhance Company and individual store performance.

What you will do:

• Manage the monthly close and prepare financial reports, summaries, and related analysis for CEO and other managers’ review
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting and the related variance analysis
• Assist with managing banking relationships and relevant insurances
• Lead the team to ensure accurate and timely accounting for all operational accounting (Cash, A/R, other assets including PP&E, A/P, and Payroll)
• Assist with accounting for taxes including multi-state and federal returns
• Maintain and enhance internal controls
• Assist with modeling for investments and construction on new entities

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Econ or similar field
• CPA, CMA, Masters’ in Accounting or Tax, and/or an MBA desired
• 9+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• 3+ years of experience managing teams required
• Oversight in accounting for taxes and payroll required
• Experience accounting for multi-site environments such as restaurants, mail-box companies, Baskin-Robbins, 7-Elevens, etc.)
• Strong analytical, communication, and training skills required
• Strong Excel and Point-of-Sale systems experience (e.g. ShopKeep, Aloha, TouchBistro, Restaurant 365, etc.)
