Internal Audit Manager | $45/hr | Contract to Hire | Hybrid (Houston, TX)

Our client is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to support risk management, compliance initiatives, and operational review activities across the organization. This individual will play a key role in evaluating business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and helping drive effective internal controls. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, collaborative, and comfortable leading projects while working with stakeholders across multiple departments. Who You Are:

• 8+ years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, risk, or related areas
• Experience leading complex audit engagements from planning through completion
• Background with a large public accounting firm and/or operational audit environments preferred
• CPA, CIA, or progress toward certification strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting findings and partnering with business leaders
• Proven ability to think critically, adapt to changing priorities, and develop practical solutions

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and execute audit projects while managing timelines, priorities, and deliverables
• Develop audit plans, assess risks, and evaluate the effectiveness of business processes and controls
• Partner with stakeholders across departments to gather information and communicate recommendations
• Identify opportunities to strengthen procedures, mitigate risk, and improve operational efficiency
• Facilitate meetings, present audit results, and support the implementation of corrective actions
• Collaborate with internal teams to drive consistent audit practices and continuous improvement initiatives
