Principal Software Engineer – Data Center SOC – San Diego, CA

A global technology innovator is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to drive advancements in memory management and security architecture. Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of software engineering experience, including security engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 4+ years of programming experience in C/C++
  • Prior contributions to open-source projects (e.g., Linux Kernel) and maintaining/upstreaming code
  • Strong debugging skills and hands-on experience with ARM-based platforms and device driver development for servers (e.g., Ampere).
  • Proficiency in performance management tools, Linux Kernel internals, and data center SOC methodologies

 
What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, and optimize software solutions for data center platforms.
  • Enhance Linux Kernel features, including virtualization (KVM), scheduler, and memory management.
  • Drive security architecture and perform advanced vulnerability assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Contribute to upstream open-source projects and lead improvements in ARM-based system software.

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors, which may include skillset, experience level, and education.
 
The expected range for this role is $190K–$290K per year. Please note this range is an estimate, and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
