Project Accountant/Sr. Project Accountant – San Diego

Looking for the next step in your construction accounting career? Join our client, a growing general contractor with an in-house finishes division, during an exciting phase of professionalization and scale. You’ll have high visibility, autonomy, and the chance to help build standardized processes as revenue targets push toward $100M.

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of project accounting experience within construction or a similar project-driven environment.
  • Skilled in job cost tracking, WIP reporting, billing, and project financial analysis.
  • Comfortable partnering with Project Managers and operations leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple active projects at once.

What you’ll do:

  • Own financial accuracy for multiple GC and Finishes projects, including job cost tracking, WIP, and cost-to-complete analysis.
  • Prepare and manage AIA/progress billings; identify revenue gaps and resolve issues proactively.
  • Review contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements for financial alignment.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, GMs, and the Controller to monitor budgets, margins, and variances.
  • Support month-end close and maintain audit-ready documentation.

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and education.
The expected range for this role is $80,000–$120,000 per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
