Research Associate, In-vivo Animal

Research Associate (In-vivo dosing is a MUST), San Diego, CA – $25-$27/hr
Are you passionate about advancing preclinical in-vivo research and helping bring new therapeutics and medical devices to market? Our client, an innovative life sciences research organization, is seeking a hands-on Research Associate with in vivo experience to support critical animal studies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role is 100% in-vivo animal studies.
Who you are:
- 1-2+ years of relevant experience in laboratory animal (in vivo) research.
- Experience with surgical procedures, dosing techniques (IV, IP, SQ,etc), biological sample collection, and animal handling.
- Working knowledge of GLP regulations, SOPs, and study documentation requirements.
- Associate degree in Veterinary Technology (preferred), BS degree with relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- RVT certification and preclinical research experience are a plus.
What you’ll do:
- Perform animal dosing, sample collection, catheter placements, surgical support, and aseptic techniques across multiple laboratory species.
- Monitor animal health, wellbeing, and vital signs while providing appropriate care and handling.
- Execute study activities in compliance with GLP regulations, study protocols, SOPs, and quality requirements.
- Prepare study materials, label collection tubes, maintain study rooms, and ensure accurate recordkeeping within internal systems.
- Collaborate with Study Directors, Principal Investigators, QA/QC teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support successful study execution.
What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and education.
The expected range for this role is $25-$27 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
