Senior Accountant | $38-$50/hr | Contract-to-Hire | Onsite, San Diego, CA

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to support key accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This individual will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end activities, and assisting with system optimization efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable balancing both day-to-day accounting responsibilities and more complex accounting projects. Who You Are:

• Experience in full-cycle accounting, including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities.
• Background supporting billing, accounts payable, and other operational accounting functions.
• Experience working within ERP systems, with exposure to system improvements, implementations, or data cleanup efforts strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with project-based accounting environments and related financial processes.
• Comfortable navigating changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Support daily accounting operations, including billing, payables processing, and transaction review.
• Assist with month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support general ledger integrity.
• Analyze historical transactions and investigate account variances to improve financial accuracy.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance accounting procedures and operational workflows.
• Contribute to ongoing system optimization efforts and help identify opportunities for increased efficiency and reporting improvements.
