Senior License, Permits, and Exemptions Specialist | Contract | $25-30/hr

What you’ll do:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local licensing, permitting, and exemption requirements.
- Manage licenses and exemptions across all 50 U.S. states/jurisdictions, plus Canada, Mexico, and UAE.
- Support and coordinate with 3rd-party compliance providers as needed.
- Maintain and administer systems and workflows in Avalara (CertCapture) and Salesforce.
- Oversee exemption certificate administration, renewals, and expirations.
- Provide compliance and audit support across multiple jurisdictions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, streamline reporting, and enhance compliance automation.
Who you are:
- 2–5 years of experience managing business licenses, sales/use tax exemptions, or related compliance work.
- Strong U.S. Sales & Use Tax knowledge; exposure to Canadian HST/GST or VAT is a major plus.
- Experienced in Avalara (CertCapture) and Salesforce administration, or capable of learning quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
- Highly organized, proactive, personable, and detail-oriented.
- A natural problem solver who takes initiative and brings solutions to the table.

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.
The expected range for this role is $25-30/hr base salary. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
