SALT Tax Manager / Senior Manager

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage state and local income/business tax compliance engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  • Research and analyze state and local tax issues, staying ahead of regulatory changes to provide clients with proactive tax planning strategies.
  • Manage large-scale state tax notice and refund processes, ensuring compliance and minimizing exposure.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff and senior accountants, fostering professional development within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients to identify tax savings opportunities and drive business growth.

Who You Are:

  • 4-7+ years of relevant tax experience in State and Local Tax (SALT).
  • Background in public accounting, ideally from a Big 4 or top 30 firm.
  • CPA license required (or actively pursuing for Manager level).
  • Experience working with public company engagements and pass-through entities.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to develop and mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.

What does this position pay?
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.

The expected range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience. #LI-JP1
